Blocked or broken gutters send water down the wall instead of away from it. uPVC roofline that looks after itself
Old timber fascias and soffits need painting and eventually rot. Replacing them with uPVC gives you a clean, crisp roofline that only needs a wipe down, and it will not flake or rot. We fit it in white or a colour to match your home, with matching guttering and downpipes, so the whole roofline works and looks like one job. Working safely at the roof edge
Roofline work happens at the eaves, three or four storeys up on some houses, so we set up proper access before anything comes off. Old timber boards and brittle cast iron or plastic gutters come down in sections, go straight into our vehicle and leave with us. Because the fascia is where the roof meets the wall, we also look at the last row of tiles or slates and the felt behind the gutter while it is exposed, and tell you if anything there needs attention.
What affects the price of roofline work
Roofline prices come down to the length of run and the height. A single-storey bungalow with one straight run of gutter is a very different job from a three-storey semi with dormers, bays and a porch roof. Replacing only the gutters costs less than fascias, soffits and gutters together, but doing the whole roofline at once saves disturbing new gutters to reach old boards later. We measure it on site and give you a fixed written price, with no callout fee.
How a roofline replacement is done
- Measure and check. We measure every run, note where downpipes need to go and check the timber rafter ends behind the old fascia for rot.
- Strip the old roofline. Old gutters, downpipes, fascia and soffit boards are taken down carefully so the roof edge is not disturbed.
- Fit new uPVC boards. New fascias and soffits go on, with ventilation where the roof needs it and felt support at the eaves so water runs into the gutter.
- Gutters, falls and downpipes. New guttering is fitted with the right fall towards each outlet, then downpipes are connected, tested with water and the site is cleared.

Common questions
Can you just repair my gutters, or do I need new ones?
Often a repair will do, sealing a leaking joint or refixing a sagging run. If the guttering is old, brittle or sagging all over, replacement gives a better and longer-lasting result. We will tell you honestly which you need and give you a fixed written price either way.
Is it worth replacing fascias, soffits and gutters at the same time?
Usually, yes. The gutter brackets fix to the fascia, so replacing gutters on old boards means disturbing them again when the boards fail. Doing the whole roofline once gives one clean, matching finish and one job at height. If only the gutters are the problem, we will say so and price that instead.
Do you clear blocked gutters?
Yes. We clear out leaves, moss and debris so the water flows away properly, and we can check the roofline for any damage while we are up there. Clearing gutters before winter is one of the cheapest ways to avoid damp problems later.
Why are my fascias rotting?
Timber fascias soak up water once the paint fails, especially behind leaking or overflowing gutters. Replacing them with uPVC solves it for good, as it will not rot or need painting. We usually renew the guttering at the same time so the whole roofline is sound.
Do you match the colour to my house?
Yes. We fit uPVC guttering, fascias, soffits and downpipes in white or a colour to suit your home, so the finished roofline looks like one clean, matching job rather than a patch.
Why do my gutters overflow even though they are clear?
The usual causes are gutters that have lost their fall and hold water in the middle, joints that have dropped, or too few downpipes for the size of roof. Heavy moss washing down from the tiles can also block outlets quickly. We check the fall along each run and fix the cause.
