How a roof clean works
- Look at the growth. Moss, lichen and algae need different treatment, and the age of the tiles decides how gently we work.
- Hand-clear the thick moss. Heavy growth is scraped off by hand so it is not forced up under the tiles.
- Treat the surface. A softwash treatment goes on where it suits the tile, to kill what is left at the root.
- Gutters and a roof check. Moss is cleared from the gutters and downpipes, and any cracked or slipped tiles are listed for you.
